How the WORTPALAST positions itself
Our books create a unique atmosphere: They immerse readers in cozy, spooky worlds where the uncanny and the everyday merge.
But behind the suspenseful fiction there is always a deeper core: Our stories reflect social challenges, grievances and questions that affect us all – be it surveillance, social inequality, identity or moral ambivalence.
In the Dark Contemporary genre, we offer literature that gets under your skin, invites you to fear and reflect – and is thus far more than mere entertainment: a literary mirror of our time in which the dark becomes the starting point for social debate.

What we do
Publication of new voices & content
Short stories and novels that get under your skin, invite you to fear and reflect – far more than just entertainment
We are constantly looking
new authors
Unique literary voices enter into dialogue with the mainstream – from all corners, cultures and backgrounds of the world.
Creating access to the German audience
We work to foster exchange across national borders – for more good books in different languages and genres.
Organize writing competitions and awards
We want to discover talents and offer them a platform for greater visibility and audience for their literary voices.
Organize seminars and workshops
To impart practical knowledge for self-publishing and to establish contacts with experts from Europe.
